ANNOUNCEMENT from USDA on the Final 2024 Animal Disease Traceability rule effective November 5, 2024.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR DAIRY CATTLE.

All breeding age dairy 18 months of age or older moving into SD are required to have an import permit number listed on the certificate of veterinary inspection (CVI).

Please call the AIB for a permit number.

Dairy moving directly to slaughter may move on an owner/hauler statement.

** Contact the destination slaughter plant for additional requirements.**

HPAI infected dairy moving into SD must contact the AIB for a movement risk assessment.
