On July 31, 2015 South Dakota diagnosed its first case of Vesicular Stomatitis Virus (VSV) since 1982. This made South Dakota the 7th state to be affected with VSV this year. Since that time, additional cases have been identified. Linked below is the USDA/APHIS national situation report which updates the status of VSV in the affected states.
The case count and counties affected can be found in the national SitRep. If you have questions that are not answered by this report, please feel free to contact the Animal Industry Board. AIBmail@state.sd.us
